WOMAN KILLED INSTANTLY. WHILE TALKING TO FRIEND. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Mrs Catherine Bcgue, a resident of New Lynn, was struck by a train while talking to a friend l at Portage Road Railway Crossing. She was killed instantly. Her view of the line was obscured by trees. The engine driver is stated to have sounded a warning whistle when he approached the crossing.
