RIFLE SHOOTING.
CONSISTENT SHOOTING AT BISLEY. LONDON, July 23. Though Australia dropped four points at the 800 yards range, the team pulled up eight points at 900 yards. The competition then was virtually a foregone conclusion, consequently the final range lacked thrill. It was soon evident, from the consistency of the Australians at every, round, that they would win very oasily. Though it was not a surprise, great enthusiasm was shown when it was announced that they had won by 32 points. The South Africans were the first to congratulate the winners. Sir Alexander Richardson, ill the name of the association, complimented the winners. He said the match had been remarkable from many asnects, especially in regard to the records made, of which Shenrim’s feat in missing the bull’s-eye only seven times was the most outstanding. It was remarkable that India’s aggregate was Australia’s winning score in 1909. _ The winners’ score of 2248 was easily a record. Lady Richardson handed over the trophy, Blaeklow responding. Tlie individual scores at 1000 yards were: Byrans 50, Cliamion, Shearim, and Addison 48, Cytc and Matthews 47, MeNaughton 41. The scores at the end of the 900 yards range were: Australia 1874, South Africa 1855, Great Britain 1825, €3saad& 1820, India 1759.
