MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
CASES HEARD TO-DAY*-
A SMALL LIST;
The list before Mr E. XK .Mosley, S.M. in the Asliburtno Magistrate s Court this morning, was a. very sm&U one. The Police cases were dealt with in three minutes and the civil business was gone on with. There were nine cases for hearing hut nloy two were ■ disposed of, the remainder being either struck out or adjourned. No Number. D. Dennehy was charged with, failinn to have a registered number attached to his motor cycle. He did not ■ appear 1 and was fined 10s and costs 7s. The Magistrate said that the public should know the by-law by now and should take precautions. In future the scale of fines would be increased. Judgment Summons. In the judgment summons case, A. J. Wills v. R. W. S. Parsons, a claim for £123 6s 6d, the judgment debtor stated that since the judgment was • made against him he had been unable, on account of ill-health, to pay anything. His father kept him in clothes , and gave him a few 7 shillings now and again. He might work for two or three days and then would have to be off two or three weeks.
The Magistrate: It looks to me as • if you don’t want to pay. No order was made.
