CYCLING.

THE METHVEN 0 CLUB

The Methven Cycling Club promoted two races last Saturday evening, and the following were the results: — Boys (16 years and under), five miles, handicap. —There were 10 entries, hut only eight started, ,all completing the course. In the senior race (15 miles) there were 13 entries and 11 starters. i The first race resulted: —A. Burrows handicap) 1, G. Stevens (2min) 2, J. McGirr (3Jmin) 3. ■ G. Stevens also secured fastest time, doing the distance in 14min 56sec. The senior event resulted as follows: Cecil Wilson (6min handicap) \l, L. Dore (3min) 2, E. Kilworth (3min) 3. Fastest time was put up by Harry Cranfield. the only scratch man to start. The time for the 15 miles was 37min 54sec

Mr James’MeTaggart was timekeeper and starter. There was a record attendance of spectators, and a collection in aid of club funds netted the satisfactory sum of £8 9s 3d. The committee- meets shortly to discuss future fixtures.
