THE WEATHER.
TO-DAY’S FORECAST. The following weather forecast was issued to-day: —The indications are for variable and strong breezes, but southerly moderate to strong prevailing. The weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled. Barometer unsteady.
The extreme heat of Monday brought cloudy weather in its train, yesterday being in striking contrast to the Previous day. In the early hours of this morning a steady rain commenced to fall, after several scattered showers had been experienced throughout last evening. At 9 o’clock £his morning right points of rain was registered at the Domain weather bureau. The present rain will do a great amount of good to crops in all parts of the country, but will affect shearing and those farmers who, encouraged by the recent hot days, have commenced haymaking.
