PENDARVES.
Despite the inclemency of the weather, a large crowd of guests from far iand near assembled m the local haE on Friday evening, and thoroughiy enjoyed the liberal hospitality of their bachelor friends. The hall was most artistically decorated, and with its "cosy corners" and excellent floor made an ideal ball' room. Wellman's Band supplied the dance music, extras being played by Miss Halliday and Messrs W. and A. Rankin. Altogether the evening was one of the pleasantest and reflected most creditably on the united efforts of the young fel- j lows who had promoted tihis annual gathering.
