SOUTH CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB.
The autumn meeting of the South Canterbury Jockey Club was concluded yesterday m pleasant conditions, and with a large attendance. The fields m most of the events were well up to the standard of the first day, and there was some interesting sport. The totalisator investments were £23,179, compared with £20,425 on the corresponding .day last year, the total for the meeting being £44,951. against £37,394 last year. Concluding results :•*— / April Stakes, of 130 soys ; six fur-longs—-Humboldt 1. St. Easel 2, Whip- . ping Boy 3. Won easily by two lengths ; a similar distance between second and third. Time, lmin 14 1-5 sec. Temuka Hack Handicap, of 150 soys ; six furlongs — Lima 1, Gossard 2, Bonny Mac 3. Won by a length ; a length between second and third. Time, lmin 14 3-ssec. Seadown Welter Handicap, of 200 soys; seven furlongs — Macduff 1, Night Alarm 2, Counter Attack 3. Won by a neck; a neck between second and third. Time, lmin 27 3-ssec. . • !
