ENTERTAINMENTS.

HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. A first-class entertainment is promised at His Majesty's Theatre this evening, when there will be shown Selznick's latest production, " The Wonderful Chance," which is from the story by H. Van Loan. It creates interest from the start, and develops to a strong climax. The plot is entirely } " different " and unusual, and Eugene I O'Brien is seen iii a double role alterI nating between au English lord and a crook. He gives a splendid characterisation of the phlegmatic, stolid Englishman, that forms a striking contrast to his really fine work as "Swagger" Barlow. "Be good and you will be lonesome," wrote Mark Twain once. I and this proved true of " Swagger | Barlow when he elected to tread the | straight,, and narrow way. Then came his wonderful chance, and this is the powerful theme of the play, which must be seen to be appreciated. On Monday evening only a powerful will be presented m. Corinne Griffith's latest triumph, "Bab's Candidate." The action is brisk, and includes a considerable amount /of •comedy, a busy State election with humorous side-issues, a strong love element, and lots of funny types of character. In addition, some gorgeous gowns are evidenced m support of the I many fleeting emotions the dainty little I star is called on to impersonate. The | box plan is at The Bristol.
