The Canterbury Jockey Qnb can usually rely on good weather for its race meetings, but ite record m this respect receired a severe check on Saturday, when the summer fixture was held m rery unfavourable conditions. Heavy rain set m before nine o'clock, , and though there were slight intermissions the rain continued until well j into the afternoon. As was to be expected, the attendance was small, and there was a falling off m the totalisator figures, the investments for the day being £20,016, compared with £28,592 last year. Concluding reSuits :— Lyttelton Plate.—Tatau Tatau 1, Paleßtrina 2, Humboldt 3. Won by five lengths. Time—lmin 3 l-sseo. Craven Plate.—Clean Sweep 1, Prince Hal 2, iioyal Mac 3. Won easing ujj by two lengths. Time—lmin 82 . 4-ssec. Halswell Handicap.—Dutch Courage 1, Filigree and Orange Mart (dead heat) 2. Won easily by two lengths. Time—2min 1 l-ssee. Post Handicap.—Will Oakland 1, Foo Chow 2, Cave Rock 3. Won all out by half a length, third horse five lengths away. Time—lmin 45 l-ssec.
