METHVEN TROTTING CLUB

A meeting of the Methven Trotting Club, was held in the A. and P. rooms on Thursday evening;. In the absence of the chairman (Mr T. S. Harrison), Mr J. McAnulty was voted to the chair. There was a good attendance of members.

It was decided to make" application to the Gaming Act Commission for a totnlisator license, for one day in the year, and the' necessary forms have been preparer by the secretary.. The latter repc:rte 1 that he had been advised that tli.-> Commission would visit the district about the end of January. The following sub-committee was.! set up to further the interests of the club in regard to a totalisator. permit: Messrs Harrison, McAnulty, Dart, Aspell, and McNeil. The meeting decided that the club iigain hold a meeting this year some time in April, and that approximately £500 be given in stakes. Mr T. S. Harrison gave a cup valued at 20 guineas, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Mr T. Aspell gave, a gold bracelet for the Amateur Race. He also was thanked for his gift.
