METHVEN.

Two members of the Mant Hutt Road Board are retiring hy ballot this year, and an election wity take place to fill the vacancies. Messrs W. W. Goodwin and H. Maginness, the retiring members, are not offering themselves for re-election. Three nominations have been received for the two vacancies, and an election will take place on May 5. The new candidates for local honours are Messrs H. D. Tomlinson, A. T Lilley, and J. Watson. None of these gentlemen has previously served on the board, and an interesting contest is expected.
