At the householders' meeting at Tinwald last evening Mr F. Green all presided over a good attendance. Stringfellow, the incoming committee was recommended to give those not at the meeting a chance to contribute. Votes of thanks to the outgoing committee and, to the teachers were carried unanimously. Special reference was made to the ffineral regret felt at the loss of the headmaster (Mr H C. N. Watson) and Mrs Watson, wlio had taken a great interest in school matters. Mr Watson's work.in the school and outdoors' departments and also his inculcation of good conduct training were eulogised by. several speakers. A motion urging on the Government tho need for reform by reducing the size of classes and by providing better trained teachers at higher salaries was carried unanimously. Tho following committee was elected:—Messrs J. Lowery (chairman), C. E. CJiallis, J. A. Greenall, S. Hulme, T. Parish, and H. W. Campbell. Tlie new committee decided that the enforced closing of the school owing to the epidemic be taken as term holidays, the school to resume on Maj 10.
