WELSH-RAILWAYS
RUMOURS OF «ST:RhKE.
(Per Press Association.) (Received January 8, 2.30 p.m.) ("Times.") LONDON, January 6 — Welsh railwaymen almost solidly rejected the Government's terms. Several branches instructed ihe dfljegates to the conference to urge an immediate strike. The situation, however, .has not yet reached a crisis. One thousand three hundred and forty - branches have been consulted, whereof tho majority have not declared their intention.
Labour correspondents believe the great body of the trade unionists will support Mr Thomas's opposition to a strike which the leaders of other great unions condemn.
It is pointed out "that the whole Triple Alliance must be consulted concerning a strike or -Mr Thomas may persuade the conference to submit the question to the New Railway Committee.
