WELLINGTON, January 7. The Prime Minister is still in communication with the Imperial authorities on the question of the extension of tho meat purchase contract, and expects to have a definite.reply within a day or two. Mr Massey has already stated that indications are that the Imperial, Government will not take meat for a further term.
