RAKAIA.
Special Peace services wore held m the Rakaia churches on Sunday. At St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church jn the evening there was a full congregation/and the King's Proclamation was read by the Rev. A. S. Morrison. At St Ita's Church a letter from the Catholic Archbishop, of New Zealand re Peace services was read by the Rev. Father Price, and a special hymn was sung. Father Price delivered an address on the Allies' victory. , A special meeting of the Rakaia Soldiers' Entertainment Committee was held on Saturday night in order to make arrangements for celebrating Peace It was resolved that the celebrations bo held on Saturday, the 19th. It was agreed to make the day as much as possible one for the children. Tea and sugar' arc to be supplied at the outing in the Domain, people to bring their own- milk and eatables. The procession will leave the Post Office at 10 a.m. As the ground will probably be damp it was agreed to endeavour to procure additional seats for the Domain.
