RAKAIA ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the South Rakaia Road Board was held on Thursday. Present.—Messrs A. J.
Magson (chairman), I. Blackley, .1 Landio, and H. J. Harrison.
Mr L. Cordner, who was recently appointed clerk, was also present. Members expressed appreciation of the work done by Mr C. Tucker, who had temporarily held the position.
The Under-Secretary ol" the Public Works 'Department wrote requesting an early application for any grant for new works required to be placed on the Public. Works Estimates.
Lengthy correspondence was received from the Canterbury Progress League on various matters, and Mr A. J. Magson was appointed delegate to the annual meeting of the League.
It was reported that water-race crossings had been put in on Collins' Road, and in other parts of the Kyle district, and that further ■ crossings would be made on Thompson's Track as soon as pipes were available.
During the month two returned soldiers had been placed on maintenance work.
