News has been received of the death m hospital in Prance of Captain the Rev. Noel Elliot Hawdon, M.A., Chaplain to the Forces.^ He came to; New- r . Zealand in'l9l2 and acted N as master at Wanganm College for a. short period. As soon, as .Archdeacon Jacob was. settled in Tunaru he joined the clerical staff there, and later went to St. Michael's, Chnstchnrch. He had been on active service for serer*! Tears, and has relatives residing at* Peel 'Forest.
