AUCKLAND, January 2. 'The Auckland Trotting .Club's summer meeting was • concluded in cold and showery .weather. Author Dillon again attempted to lower the • Australasian record on a track which wad dead, but he failed, his time being 2min 9sec. The total isa'tor investments were £37,7.11, making >£106,35 i; for the meeting, compared with £105,046 last year. The following are details of the racing': —
. Tamalci Handicap, of 150 soys; one mile and a-half—Mae thorn 1, Sandy ■Patch 2, Polar Star 3. Won by three lengths,'with .the 1 third horse a similar distance away.. Time, 3min 57 3-ssec. Park Handicap,' of 150 soys; one mile and a-half—Lockwood 1, Marie Tempest 2, Flora Dillon 3. Won pulling up by two lengths'; three lengths between second and third. Time, 3min 41 1-oscc.
President's Handicap, of 600 soys; two miles —P'itaroa ], Huon Patch 2, Moneymaker 3; Won by three lengths; 10 lengths between second and third. Time. '4min 52 3-osec.
Association Handicap, of 250 soys; two miles —Kirikiriroa 1, De Why 2, Svrie 3. Won 'by a head, with ' the third horse five length's away. Time, smin 14 4-osec.
Now Year Handicap, of 200 .sows; two miles —Bronze vPatch I', Gallipoli 2. Silver Black 3. Won' by 10 lengths; a similar distance between second and third. Time, oinin lOsec.
