SEAFIELD.
'The third annual, meeting of the Scan* eld lied 'Cross Society was held in the schoolroom on' Thursday.
During the year, with the exception of harvest time, meetings were held monthly with an average attendance of six members. The members of the society helped with the selling of surprise packets in September for the Our Day Fund, also with the lunch and tea to the returned soldiers who visited Ashburton in April 1. The society had also donated 6s , monthly to the Soldiers' Com forte Fund.
It was reported there were 232 garments and 69 other articles forwarded to the Afihburton depot, lloceipts during the year were £81 5s sd, expenditure £59 11s, leaving a balance of £21 14s sd. :
Mrs E. Ashton was re-elected president, and Mrs Gregory was reappointed to sign cheq'uos with the president. In conjunction with the Red Cross Society, the Lady Liverpool Fund, in charge of Miss Mochan, forwarded £18 10s, also 36 gifte, to the Ashburton depot.
