Thorns Kowo was sentenced to three years" hard labour for forging a withdrawal order on the Auckland Savings Bank, and uttering it to an assistant in a shop. A coloured man, William Scarboroa, on a charge of breaking and tutoring with intent to commit a crime, pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to three years' imprisonment, and was'declared'an habitual criminal for the,- third time. NEW PLYMOUTH, Feb. 4, The Supreme Court opened to-day, before hfs Honor Mr Justice Edwards. George Thomas. Gifkins, who appeared for sentence on a charge of forgery and uttering, was admitted to probation for two years, and ordered to pay costs of the prosecution. Ngati Peririka was. acquitted oh two charge:of cattle stealing. Mark, do Gatria-. pleaded guilty to one charge and was found guilty on another, of committing an unnatural, offence upon little boys at Hawera. Me was sentenced to five years' imprisonment, on «uch charge, .the sentences to be cumulative. :. ':
