The annual meeting of the Rakaia Bowling Club was held recently, Mr J. Penny being in tho chair. There' was a good attendance of members. Tho balance-sheet showed, a credit of lRs Bd. The report' stated, that the ground was now looking arid 'a good caretaker had been • secured. The club had not been successful during the past season in winning any matches, but was hoping for better luck this season. There was need on the grounds for a pavilion, which, perhaps, coul.fl also be used by the Tennis Club, and,it was suggested that a building in the Domain, sometimes used by the Racing Club, might ho shifted to act as a pavilion. It would be a good idea if the vbbwling .and tennis clubs would combine to have their opening days on. the same date: ~ ■ ';■■"■ %
