Mr Ward Price, correspondent witli tho- British Forces in the Eastern Mediterranean, in giving a detailed story of the evacuation of Anzac and Suvhi Ba,y, says Sir lan Hamilton estimated the probable cost of the operations at 40,000 casualties. Other authorities directly responsible thought the cost would' be 15 per cent, of the British force. Lord Kitchener, after his .visit to Gallipoli, was, however, optimistic.
