Heavy clouds came over, however, and. drizzly rain continued throughout the day, with heavy 'showers at intervals. From 9 a.m. yesterday till 9 a.m. today 25 points of rain was registered, i Air -H. A. Grigg, " Singjetr.ee," Alford .Forest, informed a " Guardian" reporter to-day that the wetfther ■ in 'his locality during the past few > days [ has been unusually cold, and the. ranges [are covered right to the low-lying flats | with a heavy coating of snow. .The , total rainfall from the 26th to the 29th i insts. was (3.94 inches, recorded. :as foljiows:—Twenty points on the -26th, 67 1 points on the 27th, 255 points on the I 28th, and 52 points on the 29th.
