The Baring Square Literary and De-1 bating Society held its weokly meeting | hihD evening in tho schoolroom. Tho Rev. G, Frost presided. The school- 1 room was well filled with members and friends. The Rev. WaC. Blair delivered his popular lecture on "Napoleon." For over an hour and a-half the lecturer outlined, in npt phrase and forceful il-, lustration, the salient features of the, great character ; his genius as a soldier,) statesman, and worker, were passod undor Voview, and the causes of his triumphs and failures wero powerfully delineated. Humourously, tho lecturer compared Napoleon with "a certain gentleman in Germany," a.nd predicted another colossal overthrow from overreaching prido of power.
