THE MOUNT HUTT CARNIVAL.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE

A meeting of the Mount Hutt Carnival Committee was held, in the Methyen Hall on Monday 'evening"! There was a full attendance.

It was unanimously resolved to I cancel the proposal to hold the carnival j in the Domain in favour of the racecourse, where all the buildings,- etc., had been placed at the disposal of the, committee by the Racing Club free of charge. The secretary reported that he had personally interviewed Messrs J. B. Christian and H. Curtis, secretaries of the Ashburton Carnival, and secured all the data in their possession in regard to successfully running the carnival. They had also offered to assisting any way possible, and a hearty .vote [of thanks was accorded them for the in-j formation tendered, also for their offer of assistance. It was resolved to circularise the various committees regarding running side-shows in aid of their respective Queens, also to ask them to appoint two representatives—one to; act on the combined Queen and Finance Committee, and the other on the Produce and Live Stock Section. Messrs ■'Doherty, Green, and Smith were appointed a suh-conimittee to make the necessary arrangements for tho concert and crowning ceremony tobe held in the hall on the evening of the carnival.
