DESERTING HUSBANDS
TO PRISON OR TO THE FRONT
HOSPITAL BOARD DISCUSSION

CHRISTCHURCH, November 25. The question of, allowing men who are serving sentences in prison for comparatively minor offences to go to the ; ■ front was raised at 'yesterday's meet- f ing of the North Canterbury Hospital > and Charitable Aid Board. The chair- ; -:■ man (Mr F. Horrell) directed attention r> to the number of husbands who deserted their wives, leaving these to be ft maintained by the Charitable Aid |; Board.
