GEORGE STOCKDILL.

Mr George Stockdill, a. late chairman of the High bank School Committee and a highly respected inhabitant .of the Highbank district, passed peacefully away on Monday, after a long and painful illness. The deceased gentleman was one of /the first to take vp Nthe matter of building ■the Church of England on the. Settlement, and took great interest'in the Church until his illness compelled 'him to retire. from the committee. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved wife and family, who are highly respected in tho district. One of the sons, who is now in hospital in London, suffering from injuries sustained at the Dardanelles, was one of the first to receive the D.C.M. for conduct and bravery in the campaign.
