THE WEATHER.

Throughout Thursday night and today the County was swept by* a strong nor'-westerly wind, making it unpleasant for those whoso duties necessitated them being out of doors. Tho wind will have the effect of drying up pastures considerably, and will nullify to some extent the good results of the recent rains.

The following is the Government Meteorologist's report to-day.:—" The. indications arc for a westerly heavy gale, and backing by west to .south. The. weather will probably prove squally arid changeable, clouding, over, ami rain later. The barometer is falling, but will rise after about 24 to 138 hours."
