"HtfRD-UP** SOCIAL AT EALING. Tho floor of Mr J. Johnstone's granary was well covered by a 'large and representative gathering of the residents in the Ealing district on Wednesday evening. A "hard-up" social, in aid of the Sick and Wounded Soldiers' Fund, was the object of the gather^ ing. . -.. ■ .. '.. •.: .. ■'■ . Mri Steven's-patriotic recitation bron; another £2 Is 6Jd in. A mock Court,, presided over,, by Judge,,.Johnstone, .rss- eulted'in £3 3s being-paid-in,fines. An interval-in ; the dancing saw supper ("spuds" and saveloys) handed round and highly appreciated. Mr Jos.
