VOTED £700 COMPENSATION. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, October 20 The Victoria College Council to-night decided, in view of tho fact that the Alien Enemy Teachers Act had made it impossible to retain Professor yon Zedlitz on the professorial staff of the College, that he should be voted one year's salary (£700) as compensation. An amendment moved bi 7 Dr C. Prendcrgast Knight, seconded by Mr It. A. Wright, M.P., that six months' salary bo voted in lieu of notice, was defeated jby seven^- votes to two after a warm discussion.
