ANNUAL MEETING. AUCKLAND, October 14. At the annual meeting of the South British Insurance Company the chairman said that despite the war conditions, the revenue on Ahe whole had been more than maintained, premiums oh th© underwriting account amounting ..; to .£553j296.,'; The losses, after making provision for those outstanding, were more than in the previous year by £57,198, but the ratio to the premiums was less, being 51.89 per cent., 'against 52.71 per cent.. in the previous yeai". The balance at credit on the underwriting, account was £6*7,116, being £7054 moro than in the previous year. The asset*? for the first time had exceeded a. million, -the value being £1,094,963. The company had nearly 60 j men in arms or in training. The position of every man who enlisted would , be kept for him, and each would receive half salary in addition to his military pay. ~ , - ,
