SICK AND WOUNDED SOLDIERS.
In his monthly report at the meeting of the Ashburton Hospital and Charitable Aid Board to-day, the chairman stated that the Health Department had made an inspection, of the rooms and beds offered by friends in the Ashburton district for the reception of convalescent sick and wounded soldiers, but so far no call had come for assistance in connection with the wounded from the hospital ship ■ Willochra. Two cases from' Trentham Camp had, however, been' admitted to the hospital?.?. ir treatment, arid the Defence Department advised accordingly.—The District Health Officer also wrote, asking tne Board if it would request its medical superintendent to notify him before discharging any military patient, in order that he "might .duly inform the! Director of Military Services and the other branch of the military medical serVice. Particulars of the admission of such coses were also asked for.—lt was agreed to ask Dr. C. E. Russel Rendle to supply the desired information.
