HINDS

Presbyterian Church's Annual Meeting.

There was an excellent attendance at the annual meeting of the Hinds Presbyterian Church on Tuesday evening. The chair Was occupied by the Rev. J. C. Millj of Flemington.

After the usual opening exercises, the chairman gave an address on "The Joy of the Lord."

The Home Missionary presented his report, which stated that he succeeded Mr Norman Rogers in October; that the roll at the beginning of the year was 37, and that 24 new members had joined; that throe communion services had been held, and at which individual cups had been introduced; that there had been 12 baptisms; that he had visited regularly as well as attending to his studies; that the congregations had been good, but the Sunday Schools could be improved; that the annual picnic had been held at the beach; that there were three Bible classes—at Lowcliffe> Lynnford, and Hinds; and that harvest thanksgiving services had been held at all. centres.

Mr ,Neugoschwender reported that thero had ibeen three general meetings during the year; that Miss Davidson had acted as organist, and Mr McDowell as superintendent of the Sunday School; that the balance sheet showed: Receipts £175, expenditure £139, and a credit balance of £36; and that a movement to erect a manse had been postponed for the present. Eulogistic reference was made to the work of the Home Missionary.

The old committee, with the addition of Messrs Shaw and McKeagc, was elected.

Votes of thanks to the organist, Sunday School teachers, and outgoing committee were carried.

Solos were then sung by Misses Shaw and Chisholm and Mr Bishop.

It was decided to place a Roll of Honour in the church.

After the pronouncing of the Bonediction, an excellent supper was served.
