ASHBURTON GRA!N MARKET.
The following is the Ashburton grain market report for the week ended April 24, 1915: —
Tho grain market shows little change since our Last report, and, if anything, -.tho. / volume of business -as ro.go-rds both wheat sind oats has diminished. .
"YV'hont.-—Tho amount changing* hands is not -great, as buyers .show little inclination to add to present stocks,, and, although there arc a good
number of growers still holding their produce, they ,will hot part at prices offering. Quotations are more or less nominal, and are: —Tuscan, 6s 4d to 6s sd; Hunters, 6s sd; Pearl, 6s 6d to 6s 7d—all on trucks at country stations. ;
Oats.—Owing to Southland oats being quoted to the North at less than rates that have been lately ruling in North Canterbury, business is mostly now going to the southern markets. Present selling values locally, are: — "A "v Gartons, '3s-8d to 3s 9d; "B " Gai-tons, 6s 7d '■■;' Duns, 3s 7d to 3s lOd; Danish. 3.3 6d to 3s 7d—all on trucks, according to description.
Chaff;--Prime still commands £5 15s to £6, on trucks.
