At the annual picnic of the Baring Square Methodist Sunday School yesterday, two presentations —one on behalf of the Sunday School scholars, and the.other from the teachers of the Sunday School —were made to Mr C. Dixon'by.the Rev. W. J.-Elliott, who referred in eulogistic terms to Mr Dixon's 27-■ years' valuable service to the ,school, during the greater part_of which time he had been the superintendent of* the school. Mr Dixon suitably responded. The presentation from the* scholars took the form of an illuminated address, that from the teachers being a pliotograph of the staff.

The members of-the-firm of Tuckers, Ltd., and its employees held a social on Tuesday evening in Devane's Hotel in order to make a presentation to Mr J. H. Mushet, ,who' has been in the linn's employ for the last 13 years, and \ylio has now resigned his .position in order to enter business oh his own account. Mr W. It. Tucker presided, and in the course of the evening presented the guest ,with a gold watch, suitably inscribed. In a eulogistic speech Mr Tucker paid Mr Mushet m,any high compliments, and said that the 'firm was 'very sorry to lose his services. The . toast of :(.''The Guest" was proposed by the oldest, employee! of the iirm (Mr T. Norgan), and Mr MusEet subsequently: acknowledged the gift and responded to the toast. A number of complimentary speeches were delivered during the evening, and a full programme of musical Items was gone through. The proceedings, which were of a most harmonious character, concluded with the singing of " Auld Lang Syne." . .
