METHVEN

Caledonian Society.

The annual general meeting of the Methven Caledonian Society was held in the supper room of the Town Ha.ll on Friday evening last. There was a good attendance, and Mr T. Twomey (President) occupied the chair., The secretary's report and j balanCesheet -were read and adopted. "The-bal-ance-sheet showed the society to bo in a sound financial position. .•. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr T. Twomey (re-elected); patrons, Messrs W. J. Dickie, M.P., Jas. McLean, J. T. Mangin, R. Holland, W. Morgan A. McKay, H. Kennedy, A. Orr, G. Cormack, senr.., O. Louisson, and the Rev. G.,K. Aitken; vice-presidents, Messrs H. Green and O. A. Ouff; management committee, 14 members elected; secretary, Mr J, H. Stone; assistant-secre-tary, Mr J. Mauger; hon. treasurer, Mr H. Green.

It was proposed by Mr H. Green, and seconded by. Mr T. Twomey, that the society's annual sports gathering be held on December 16 (pending approval), and that half the profits for that day be .donated to the Poor of Great Britain,'lreland, and Belgian Funds Ten new members were duly elected. The secretary's salary was fijted at £10 per annum. j.
