A WOMAN'S TROUBLE.
AUCKLAND, May 29. , At an inquest on the body of a newly-born child, a statement made to tho police by the mother of the child, Mary Agnes Brown, was put in. She statod lhab she was a single woman, 25 years of age. She admitted she gave birth to the child, but it was dead, and she put it in a dress basket. The coroner found that the death of tho child "resulted from hemorrhage or exposure owing to the absence of skilled assistance. 'Subsequently Mary Brown was arrested and charged with concealment of birth. She was rrmanded on bail on finding surety for £25.
