ASHBURTON POULTRY, PIGEON, AND CANARY SOCIETY.
A committee meeting of the Ashburton Poultry, Pigeon and Canary bociety was held on Tuesday evening. There was a good attendance, and Mr G. Bundy presided. ' It was decided to give another trophy (valued at £2 2s), ror competition m the Bantam Classes. ,' '■ The,Ashburton Gas Company s tender for lighting at tile show was accepted, as was' also iVfrs Devane's for the annual supper. It was resolved to ask the two local bands 'to tender for the supply or music. . ■ . The following judges were appointed: Dogs, Mr J. V. de Beer; butter, Mr G. Menarry; Bread, scones and cakes, Mr S. Madden; fruit, Mr J. Readhead; grain and seeds, Mr F. 3. Holley; fancy work and needlework, Miss Rennie and Mrs Willis.
