FEDERATION'S CONFERENCE.
WELLINGTON, December 14. The Federation of Labour Conference is nob yet .concluded. The officials are uncommunicative, ■but it is rumoured that the strike may be called off to-morrow, so far as transport workers are concerned, leaving the miners out; * In the meantime no result of the seamen's confei'ence is available.. Extreme' reticence is still displayed by the delegates who have been attending the Federation of Labour and Seamon's Union Conferences in regard to the strike. As a result of their deliberations no announcement has been made as to the result of the ballot of the Wellington seamen, which was. fixed to take place yesterday. It is generally ■ anticipated, however, that the seamen are likely to return to work, possibly to-morrow, or more probably on Wednes-! day.
