HORSE-MAIMING FIENDS.

( WELLINGTON, -November '25. A series of attempts i have been made lately to killor,, maim , horses belonging to the Victoria" Laundry "'Company. On two occasions animals belonging to the Company have been driven over a ste«p bank with a drop of 25 feet, but in each case were ;' uninjured. Thi& having failed, yesterday a horse was badly wounded, a great gash 10 inches long and five inches deep being noticed in its abdomen. In a veterinary;, surgeon's, opinion, the; . wound, .-was;,made with some instrument f like a pruning knife.

Ford 1914 Models.—The new models of Ford motor-cars are to hand, ex s ; s: Waimate. The improvements consist of larger water space in radiator, Kingston hew model automatic carburettor, improved wind screen, improved gas generator, improved hood with- " jiffy " side curtains, improved rear axle casing. There are now only two Ford Touring -Cars available for immediate delivery. at the list price, £205 -each. Intending purchasers are invited to inspect those new models at their earliest convenience. The next shipment of Fords, due end of December, is being booked up now, and it is certain that Mr Carson, the district agent, will not be able to supply all orders from this shipment. 7 139
