METHVEN

A. and P. Association,

A committee meeting of the Methven A. and P. Association was held on Monday evening. Present: Messrs A. Murray (president), in the chair., J. T. Mangin, J. Stewart, D. McDonald, Danl. McKendry, H. Green, T. Doherty, G. L. Crowley, J. W. Comyns, J. T. Doherty, G. Harris, T. Guridry, Hay Smith, R. Millan, Junr.. W. Buchan, Junr., S. Smith, G A. Cuff, and 0. W. Doherty. , A good deal of correspondence was received, also a letter from 'the Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce, enclosing the original Order-in-Council of incorporation of the Methven A. and P. Association.

It was resolved that the secretary's salary be fixed at £40 per annum, payable half-yearly!; sif the . secretary so wished. ' : :

Messrs D. McDonald, Danl. McKendry and-.S. Smith, with the president and treasurer, were apointed to form a Finance Committee.

The question of special prizes, the last horse parade, the membership, and Association grounds, • were discussed generally. * ; The following riew members were elected:—Messrs F. W. Ruddenklau, Hughbert Watson, R. Grieve, F. G. Collison, and R. H. Gordon. U

■If was decided that sectional subcommittees be appointed at the next committee meeting to be held on Monday, November 1.

The meeting then terminated with a vote of thanks to the chair.
