Brovn's wife, vvith her two children, returned to her mother, and Brown followed. A dispute occurred over' the » children, and Mrs Brown sent for a constable. Before his arrival, Brown shot his mother-in-law dead, and fired two sliots, when escaping, at his wife, both passing through her blouse and not-in- v jurhig her. Brown bolted to tk«..bush. , Twenty shots were exchanged**,, one , piercing the constable's helmet, before 5 Brown was shot dead.
