ASHBURTON CATHOLIC CLUB.

There- was a good attendance of members of the Catholic Young Men's Club at th© usual weekly meeting, heldlast evening in the club robins.' Mr W. ,3. Cunningham (president), occupied the chair. A recommendation from tho Club's Council, that, owing t.o the holiday season, the weekly meeting of tho club cease during the, month of December and January, was carried. The evening's programme consisted of readings by members from the " Ashburton Guardian " of last evening's issue of that paper and discussion thereon. An animated discussion followed many of the readings, and the programme proved perhaps one of the most interesting undertaken by the club for some time. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting. ' '
