Per Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, December 10. The wool sales closed at the highest point of the series. There was good competition for all quarters, especially for merinos. Fifty-seven thousand five hundred bales were sold for the Home market, 54,000 for the Continental, 7000 for the United States and 10,000 were held over. There was..a buoyant tone throughout the series, and competition and prices were steadily sustained. The Germans;* were keen operators, chiefly for merinos. The Americans particularly operated m crossbreds. There was an excellent representation of merinos. Scoureds were fully 5 per cent.above September rates. Best greasy combings par, faulties par to o per cent below, good lots, medium and shabby crossbreds, also siipes and scourods, 5 per cent above Sentember rates. Lambs sold at par.
