At Portland, Maine, Frank Sanford, leader of" the Holy Ghost and United Slates Society, has. been convicted, of causing the deaths of six persons aboard the yacht Coronet. It was alleged that Sanford allowed the va<.'!'t to proceed on a voyage without being supplied with the necessaries of Ufe. Sanford refused legal defence, declaring that God was the only defence he needed.
