WELLINGTON v. AUCKLAND.

WELLINGTON, August 12. Wellington drew with Auckland. The game was played at Day's Bay, and was a most exciting contest. There was no score in the first spell, but in the second spell both teams notched a goal, which necessitated extra time being played. There were two extra spells of a quarter of an hour each, but try as they would, neither side could score. Wellington therefore retain the Shield. The game was remarkable first for the fast pace, and secondly for the wonderful evenness of the two teams, between whom, there was nothing to choose. Loader scored for Wellington and Wolham for Auckland.
