WILLOWBY.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the Willowby Literary and Debating Society was held in the local Schoolroom on Wednesday evening last. There was a good attendance of members, over which the President (Mr T. Wakelin) presided. The subject for the evening was "Question Box and Impromptu Speeches," but owing to the interest which each member took in their respective questions, and the splendid discussion which followed each one, it was found that there was no time to deal properly with the impromptu speeches. After a very instructive and also amusing evening, a vote of thanks to the Chairman brought the meeting to a close.
