CHRISTCHUROH, May 23. The latest figures to reach the Hort, D. Buddo give the population of the two Islands of New Zealand as follows ;

Totals ... 870,003 984,654 104,651 The relative positions of the twoiriH Islands, said Mr Buddo, had altered*^ since the last batch of returns had reached him, the increase in the North being now 24,351 more than that in the South.
