■ . — ♦— . WELLINGTON, December 16. The annual meeting of tile Gear Moat Preserving and Freezing Company was held to-night. A dividend at the rate of 10 per cent, for the year, of which 5 per cent, has already 'been paid, and a bonus of 5 per cent, on paid-up capital out of insurance reservo, were declared. The retiring directors, Messrs H. Beauchamp and W Reid and Dr. A. K. Newman, were re-elected. In returning thanks for us election, Mr Beauchamp said he had had personal experience of the handling of the company's meat m London, and the hysterical statements concerning the scandalous handling of carcases at Home were not justified at all. fhe company's meat went out of the ships into barges and then entered warehouses on the south side of the ihames. lhe carcases could not bo damaged m any of those warehouses and were invariably delivered m good order and condition.
