The New Zealand Cricket Council met to consider the financing of an Australian team, and also to consider replies from associations as to whether they are prepared to give guarantees if the pooling system is abandoned m favour of ea-ch association paying the expenses of its match, and appropriating any profits. Auckland replied that it was strongly against the pooling system; Otago North and Taranaki approved of the pooling; Canterbury, Buller and Nelson declined to give a guarantee unlees the pooling system is adhered to; Marlborough stated that if it gave a guarantee it would be on the understanding that it 1 retained all profits; Rangitikei preferred pooling, but would give a guarantee m any case; and Wanganui agreed to pay the guarantee and take the profits. The secretary reported that no reply had been seceived to his cable sent to the Board of Control, and it was resolved that the following cable be sent to the Board : " Must have an immediate reply my cable, or arrangements may fall through."
